Is TMS safe?
Clinical trials and actual practice usage have demonstrated that Deep TMS treatment is a well-tolerated noninvasive procedure. You should consult your doctor to see whether Deep TMS is right for you based on your personal medical history.
Deep TMS has not been shown to cause any substantial or lasting side effects. A 2007 study in Clinical Neurophysiology confirmed this, finding Deep TMS to be a well-tolerated treatment that does not cause any adverse side effects.
During the procedure, individuals undergoing Deep TMS treatment may experience slight discomfort, with some reporting a tapping sensation in the treated area.
What is the Deep TMS Depression Treatment Protocol?
BrainsWay’s unique, patented H-Coil technology is held inside a cushioned helmet fitted onto the patient’s head. Upon activation, the H-coil produces magnetic pulses that regulate the brain’s neural activity.
BrainsWay’s Deep TMS sessions for depression last approximately 20 minutes, rather than 40-minute standard rTMS sessions. Alternatively, a 3-min intermittent theta burst (iTBS) session is also available. A Deep TMS treatment plan usually requires daily sessions over 7 weeks, followed by periodic maintenance sessions.
What disorders does TMS treat?
Depression, Anxious depression, anxiety, OCD, and smoking addiction
Is Ketamine Safe?
Ketamine is safe, however.
SPRAVATO® can cause serious side effects, including:
Sedation, dissociation, and respiratory depression. SPRAVATO® may cause sleepiness (sedation), fainting, dizziness, a spinning sensation, anxiety, feeling disconnected from yourself, your thoughts, feelings, space, and time (dissociation), and breathing problems (respiratory depression and respiratory arrest).
Tell your healthcare provider right away if you feel like you cannot stay awake or if you feel like you are going to pass out.
Your healthcare provider must monitor you for serious side effects for at least 2 hours after taking SPRAVATO®. Your healthcare provider will decide when you are ready to leave the healthcare setting.
What is Ketamine/Spravato protocol?
For the first month, you’ll take SPRAVATO® twice per week, then once per week for the second month. After that, you and your provider will decide if treatment should continue and how often.
Who is a good candidate for Ketamine?
You may benefit from taking SPRAVATO® with or without an oral antidepressant if you’re an adult with major depressive disorder (MDD) who has had an inadequate response to two or more oral antidepressants, known as treatment-resistant depression (TRD).
Does Ketamine or TMS replace medications?
TMS—Most often, patients continue medications with some dose adjustments possible and some individuals are able to discontinue medications, but this is case-to-case and not as common.
SPRAVATO® is a prescription medicine used for:
with or without an antidepressant taken by mouth, to treat adults with treatment-resistant depression (TRD).
with an antidepressant taken by mouth, to treat depressive symptoms in adults with major depressive disorder (MDD) with suicidal thoughts or actions
